skillpik.com is a central marketplace for the barter of services throughout CARICOM and the Caribbean region. It is an online platform that is intended to foster business development, promote healthy competition and efficiency in business, drive entrepreneurship and above all deliver value for money.

  • visitors to our website; 

  • people who do business through our website as Buyers and Service Providers 

  • people who register on our website and/or who subscribe to our website as Service Providers

  5. correspondence sent to us by you that is explicitly or implicitly of a private or confidential nature, and any replies to such correspondence which would reveal the contents of the original correspondence; 

Sensitive personal information means information on a person’s racial or ethnic origins, political affiliations, religious beliefs or other beliefs of a similar nature, physical or mental health or condition, sexual orientation or sexual life or criminal or financial record. We will not process sensitive personal information in our possession unless we obtain the consent of the person to whom that sensitive personal information relates or unless it has been made public by the person to whom such information relates or where the disclosure of such information is required by law.

  2. subscribe to one of our publications/newsletters;

We gather this information to allow us to process your registration and subscription, process any orders or transactions you may make through our site and to connect you with Service Providers and Buyers, as the case may be, on our marketplace. The relevant information is then used by us, our employees, our agents and sub-contractors to provide you with statements of your account, to communicate with you on any matter relating to the conduct of your account and to communicate with you on the provision of the goods or services by a Service Provider or information on a Buyer or any other matter arising out of or relating to the use of our marketplace. We may also contact you about other products and services that we think may be of interest to you.  

We also will use your information for the performance of our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation. 

We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us to develop our website and our services. We may also provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify you. 

From time to time we may provide your information to our customer service agencies for research and analysis purposes so that we can monitor and improve the service we provide. We or our employees or our agents and sub-contractors may contact you by post, email or telephone to ask you for your feedback and comments on the use of our website and services or goods procured through the site.

Overseas transfers 

The information you provide may be transferred to countries outside of Trinidad and Tobago for the purposes of connecting Buyers and Suppliers on our marketplace, as the case may be, through the website and for the purposes of processing any orders or transactions relating to skillpik.com’s marketplace that you may make through our site. Any such information which is requested to be disclosed outside of Trinidad and Tobago shall only be transferred to a jurisdiction that has similar protections in place regarding your data and restrictions on its use as set out in this policy.
